Sourhalls Pond,02 08 10


Although windy with heavy showers the sun did show for a while,45 blue tailed,25 emerald,2 azure damsels,2 common hawker,1 brown hawker dragonflies also 7 brown china mark moths and a broom moth larva on yellow flag iris leaf possibly basking as the sun shone briefly.pic of emerald damsel,regards Bri.

Hi Brian. Whereabouts is this? I was considering hitting Cromwell Bottom at some point to get some Dragon footage. Haven't done my research yet on these, and have been preoccupied with Butterflies, Moth Larvae and Grasshoppers recently but.......

sorry im a bit late replying Steve,as you come up bacup rd,turn rt onto sourhalls rd at cloughfoot opp the road up to gorpley res,go to the top of sourhalls rd,you could prk just rt past the pub counrty friends which alas is shut,then walk back over cattle grid and up the track to the rt which is a bit pot holey for car, pond is about 500yds on left,80 plus emerald damsels were seen last wk,watch out for black darters also,regards Bri.
