First emergence of the year.

320 Phyllonorycter quercifoliella. Reared from a mine on oak found at Elland By-pass 20 days ago. Note the diagnostic basal streak running over half the wing length. A very common moth found almost anywhere the foodplant grows.

Very nice Charlie.

Won't be too long before the Eriocrania's start to emerge too, looking forward to your pics.

PS Have finally got round to getting my own blog off the ground on here.

Hi Dave, might give the eriocranias a miss for a while as I gave them a good try last spring.I'm really on the look out for bagworms in the next 2 or 3 months but not sure if we get many this far north - so jealous of your recent finds on Beech.I think there's just one record of Psyche casta in Calderdale and that's it, so I might be barking up the wrong tree :-)

I'll look in on your blog regularly as I'm sure it will be top notch and give me plenty of useful tips.
