Winston ,i would take a guess at Scoparia subfusca,but I aint that good at micros(yet).British Pyralid Moths By barry Goater is a good starting point.
What about Dipleurina lacustrata. the msrkings look better.
Dipleurina lacustrata looks a better bet to me BUT it helps tremedously if people post either wing tip to wing tip measurements or length of the wing of micros. It can make all the differance to confirming an ID. The scoparids are notoriously difficult to ID and most of us simply pretend we have not seem em :-)) I seem to remember I have a key to the scoparia some where on the computer sent to me by Tony Davis who runs the Pyralid recoding scheme. I will see if I can find it and print it out.
Hi paul, Thanks. yes I should have noted the dimensions. Apparently the light mid wing region is diagnostic in this case. the Scoparia ident key would be great them we will no longer have to pretend :~)
