Moth Identity please

I saw this moth mid-morning and again at 10pm. I thought it was a different species at first but realised it had the same markings. It was only a couple of foot from earlier in the day.

                                                        Beautiful ruff around its neck.

Possibly a redundant remark, but for good measure, the "ruff" is there to keep it warm on cold nights. It's no accident that it the thickest around it's head (brain).
