Northowram today ( frozen this morning)

100 + Dyseriocrania  subpurpurella today in local Oak wood flying in the sun  , first Speckled Wood ,Orange tip , Small White , Peacock and 10 + Small Tortoiseshell......

Heck that's a good count of Dyseriocrania... I didn't realise they could be found in such numbers. I thought I had done well with just the one !!!! Might try the oak woodland in the park another day. Just a single Angle Shades this morning but hardly any butterflies at home today. You did well.

Dave wait till the sun warms up a bit and then just tap branches of Oak and you see them...very very common when they come out
