Pennine Way

I think this is a Four-spotted Chaser. 4 of them were flying over the pond that is beside the junction of the Pennine Way and the track to Whiteholme.

The dragonfly pool is about 300m north of the prominent 'Tom Stones', where there is a fine poem about Rain, by Simon Armitage, carved on a stone facing the Pennine Way. To get close to the poem if coming from the White House, cross the ditch by a tiny hump-backed bridge.

Yes. Walk north from the White House along the Pennine Way, and you see the Tom Stones well before you reach them. About 150m before the Stones, cross the ditch on the tiny hump-backed bridge, then carry on to the Stones. The poem is on the first rock.
