Two Marbled Beuties this morning. They must be strong and hardy, I don't expect to see many more this year.
I didn't expect any butterflies today..
1 Peacock at Carr's Beck - lower end of the golf course.
1 Speckled Wood in the garden
Let's hope for some nice sunny warm days into October ! My Buddleia has finished but the Sedum is coming out and Verbena bonariensis is still looking good.
We had a Mottled Beatuy on the door this morning. When the sun came out, if flew off to find shelter.
1st of September; a lovely, warm, sunny and still, Autum day. I went for a walk down Carr Hall Lane, it was perfect. The only sounds, were my footfall, a few birds and a horse snorting. I only saw two butteflies:
1 x Large White. (As ususal, it didn't stay for a photo.)
1 x Speckled Wood. (It flew round me and settled on a bramble leaf, to enjoy the sunshine.)
Cool and damp last night but managed two new ones for the year.
Garden Carpet x 1
Lesser Yellow Underwing x 2
Large Yellow Underwing x 1
Well pretty appalling here with heavy rain..If anyone has Butterfly sightings for last week in August can you please leave a comment..cheers
Four moths today. Dwindling numbers now, they're preparing for their silly season.
