Fly Flatts

This morning - I found 2 Fox Moth caterpillars at the northern end - this one was eating grass stalk (purple moor grass ? ) near an area of sparse heather with the other one nearby.

If anyone can help with these dragonflies I found around the new ponds that would be a help.
I am thinking Black Darter maybe - but it's a new one to me ! or more likely I have not noticed them before !!
Front one (male?) is dark and the other (female?) - yellowish with a slightly larger body.
They were not as large as Common Hawker (maybe half the size) but buzzed around pretty quickly so it was difficult to get any really good shots.

Comments - No advancement on species since visit from last week . Notable as the main moth of the evening was Blastocella figures being conservative estimates, still prevalent where the Bird Cherry Ermine and one Flame Shoulder present . The Eudonias are a tricky call to species and are a moss feeder at larval stage One Caterpillar believed to be an Angle Shades was seen feeding on nearby nettle at night .Cooler evening temperatures may have resulted in reduced catches as opposed to a few weeks previous

Other Entomology Included a number of tree Wasp Dolichovespula and a  Caddis one of which sent a clear message to the Calderdale Caddis Club about night time disturbance. The Caddis in question certainly Potamophylax sp likely  Potamophylax latipennis

East Riddlesden Hall (Aire Valley)

I was asked to run my moth trap at the apiary adjacent to East Riddlesden Hall.
As it's only 200m away from my garden I quite happily obliged.

At least three lifers were caught among the usual suspects.

Lee Mount moths from 28th August

Any help with these appreciated !

Think this is Small Phoenix - but it seems bigger than the book (describes it as 15mm) as this one is 20mm. Don't think it's a Phoenix ?

Think Willow Beauty ?

Not sure - Square-spot type ?

Fly Flatts

I was surprised to find this moth clinging on to Ragwort this afternoon in the strong blustery wind at the northern end of Fly Flatts.
About 25 to 30mm long but don't know what it is - and there's not a lot to go on !?
