Its been a lot quieter this week with the unsettled weather and cooler, breezy nights, highlights were
Box Tree Moth on the 12th
Second record here and only the third for Calderdale, no doubt there will be more
Dingy Footman - only the third this year
Double-square Spot - one of three on the 12th
Another increasing species. The first here was 1 in 2021, there were 9 in 2022 and 5 so far this year
Dot Moth on the 8th
Only the second record here
The Miller
Always a nice Moth to see, with only small numbers yearly here

The Box tree moth is amazing. Is it a micro, as it isn't in our Waring and Townsend field guide?
Dot Moth are interesting only get about 1 every couple of years..?/ various foodplants including nettle and Dock so plenty of those 2 round here..??
In Yorkshire Moths it comes in as a micro - Cydalima perspectalis
