Allthough it was cool(9degrees) and clear it was strange at the lack of moths for the first week in July.??is it because there are a million ants around..or was it the cool temps.??

I personnally think its Just the cool air temps close to water bodies, that night you and Nick saw hardly any moths down at the mill ,there were plenty coming in up at the hall when Martyn and me were up there, there were also plenty of ants up there also, had to shift ants off the sheet around the trap,it mentions catches are a lot smaller in Fry and Warings Moth Trapping by water bodies for those also used to be similar at Gorpley those trees sugared well above the river on the top path were always more productive than the ones down by the river itself,no wood ants there.
