What a night for Wainscots

Southern wainscot above  (Mc'Enroe headband and all)  and Least Yellow Underwing(below) not seen one for a few years locally.

A night for Wainscots at EGPits last night with 34 Southern and 28 Silky realy amazing numbers of these two locally scarce species. There were only 2 previous records of southern and Silky recorded for the first time locally last year.We thought we were doomed when the rain started at 10ish but when it stopped at 11ish the floodgates opened...Bri and Andy..Angle striped sallow was nice as well....

There must be really healthy populations of both Southern/Silky Wainscots at EGPits to see the numbers we did in a few hours, there must be a good few more Wainscot species waiting to be found down there also !
