A really poor start to the day..... empty moth trap after what seemed a perfect night for them - mild and muggy. Just a pug to sort !
Then the day improved.
A walk in the park woodland, we disturbed a Snout which came to rest on a leaf.
Got home and saw something fluttering in the water down a rain gully. Took the grate off and pulled out a Herald. Put it on the house wall to dry out and after an hour or so it left unscathed.

Next, a butterfly in our neighbours garden. Painted Lady nectering on some ground cover Phlox.
Then looked up and an adult Peregrine was circling overhead with what looked like a Starling in its
talons.
