This afternoon - hot and sticky - butterflies all along both sides of the roadside from Wainstalls to the far end and return - impossible to count.

Meadow Brown - 100+
Ringlet - 100+
Small Heath - 50+
Small Skipper -25+
Large Skipper 15+
Small Tortoiseshell - 15+
Small White - 1
Peacock - 1 large caterpillar on a grass stem
Also at least one Six-spot Burnet Moth ? - still to check photos in detail.
