Prominent night in Midgley



Looks like the prominents were out in force last night - We had an Iron Prominent and Pebble Prominent, but the star of the night was our first Poplar Hawkmoth! Also got a cracking Flame Carpet just asking to be photographed. Hebrew Characters were aplenty too with 17 in the trap.



Looking forward to emptying the trap tomorrow morning...

very nice, no prominents here yet but I've just photographed 22 pugs to sort through (5 escaped) looks good for tonight

Things are looking up,thats a nice early Pop Hawk,quite a few early moths already showing with this balmy April weather.regards Bri.

Yes, looks like things are coming out earlier, got the shock of my life when I saw the Poplar Hawkmoth! Just come back from Spalding to see a friend of mine and took the opportunity to take the trap down, got a Ruby Tiger, Spectacle, Brimstone,2 Muslin Moths, Chinese Character and 2 Shuttle-Shaped Darts. Was hoping for something new but it was very windy so not much about.
