BEDSTRAW HAWKMOTH......!!!!!!
A Bedstraw Hawkmoth was seen in Hebden Bridge on the 10th May the first local record since 1971....it was found on the path near Nutclough Woods towards Fearney Fields..many thanks to Alison Charles/ Matthew Broadbent and the finder Kate Henderson..for information..A beauty

Wow, was it a wild one?
It is the earliest ever to be recorded in Yorkshire but with those southerly winds last week and the fact that in the same general area where there have been Hoopoe and Roller in the last couple of years ,I would say its a great record..
Non-moth-ers shouldn't be able to find such things :-)
