Plenty of butterflies in the area around the car park at Rudd Lane and around the Reservoir this morning. Lots of thistles in flower and a few Ragwort.
It's a shame to have lost the insect habitat in the wild flora and grasses on the Reservoir embankment but there are probably good reasons for YW having had the grass cut.

Small White - very few
Large Skipper - still plenty about maybe 50+
Small Skipper just a few near the car park but none found higher up around the Reservoir
Small Tortoiseshell - maybe 40+ mainly on thistles
