I'd ruled out Silver Ground Carpet due to the late date - 9th August and the dark upper body

Yep Im sure your right,its a real tricky one.
If you put Cromwell Bottom Map in the search engine at the top left.Then a map comes up showing CB you will find Pixie wood inthe middle of the 2 lagoons and the sphagnum bog,
looks like a purple bar to me,central bar isnt quite as jagged as on galium carpts,some pics ive got of p bar show very slight concave leading edge of wing,and it looks more pronounced on galium c,saw 1 at greenfield a few years back and concave leading edge is quite prominent,check out cat id galium c also.
