Unknown caterpillars

Could anyone identify these two caterpillars that I found in the garden the other day. Both are on my flag iris and the bottom one is happy chomping its way through the leaves. The other just seems to sit there and sulk. Top is about an inch long and the bottom cat is about 3/4 inch (but growing). I've seen the top one at Cromwell Bottom but have never been able to find out what it is.

Think I might hazard an i.d. here as the bottom one looks like a Knot Grass moth caterpillar, no idea about the other one though.

Thanks for the ID. I looked up Knot Grass and it seems to be the right one.

The top image shows a sawfly larvae. These occur in huge numbers on Flag Iris at CB and other sites every year. I think its Rhadinocerea micans but might be wrong
