Donacaula forficella

Nice little micro from last night

It's always nice to see one of the less common crambids featured.

Me and Andy found one last year on NMN at Blake Dean and it was the moth of the day/night for me.

The larvae has a great habit of making itself a raft out of a cut out piece of leaf to sail to a new food plant!

We seem to get a lot of "cranefly" types and usually ignore them.Last night this was lit by the trap and looked interesting , else we would have just left it .Not only a nice moth but also a Boatbuilder. Clever
