Ogden beastie

One of the school kids found this today at Ogden, I'm not sure what it is, any help would be appreciated. As it was a Spanish child I have no idea what type of vegetation it was found on.
Coin is a 1p piece by the way.

Hi Brian
Spot on mate ! I knew this was something that fed below ground and not in stems has it has pro legs. I at first assumed it was one of the Hepialidae but it did not fit any description and it had me stumped. I had just posted a request on the AES forum for advice as to likely species

"recording the adult down here in Sussex now, have been doing so for the last week". This was posted on the AES forum in reply to my request about the mystery cat
